Creating a Segment

This article delves into creating your first segment.

Segments are groups of contacts that share characteristics or behaviors. Every campaign in Ubico requires a segment. When creating a new segment, you can choose to build a segment of People or Companies.

People segments
  • Import People — upload a CSV or Excel file of contacts you already have. Use this when you have your own list and want to bring it into Ubico.
  • Data-driven — filter contacts from your existing Ubico database using conditions you define, like job title, industry, geography, email opens, or response category.
  • Prospecting (automated)— source net-new contacts by defining your target audience. Ubico finds matching people for you based on your ICP.
Company segments
  • Website Visitors — segment companies that have visited your website. Search and filter visitors to find the right ones to reach out to.
  • Import Companies — upload a list of companies from a file. Coming soon.
  • Importers and Exporters — segment companies involved in international trade. Coming soon.
How to create a segment
  1. Go to Segments from the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Segment in the top right corner.
  3. Enter a name and optionally a description for your segment.
  4. Select your segment type from the People or Companies options.
  5. Follow the setup steps for your chosen type.
