How to access trade data on Ubico

This article explains how to access trade data on Ubico

Ubico now gives you access to over 70 million real import and export shipment records, built right into your Engagement OS.

No extra tools, no spreadsheets, no jumping between platforms. You can search, filter, and act on global trade data from the same place where you run campaigns, manage contacts, and automate research.

If you sell into logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or supply chain, this is a game-changer for how you prospect and personalize your outreach.

Search who shipped what, where, and how often. Find high-fit prospects based on the products they move, their shipping volume, or the trade lanes they operate in. You can also set up alerts to get notified when companies switch suppliers, expand into new markets, or restart shipping activity.

The data feeds directly into UbiGent, your AI research agent, so your CRM stays enriched automatically. And because it's all connected, you can personalize every message based on what your prospects actually ship, not just their job title or company size.

Filtering Your Search

Trade data comes with 12 filters that let you get as precise as you need. Here's what you can work with:

Shipments Date Range: Set a start and end date to focus on a specific time window. Great for spotting recent activity or tracking seasonal trends.

Product Description Keywords: Search by what's actually being shipped. Enter keywords that match the products or goods you're interested in.

Supplier Country: Filter by where the goods are coming from. Pick a specific country to narrow your results.

Exit Port Location: Specify where shipments are leaving from, down to the port level.

Entry Port Location: Same idea, but on the receiving end. Filter by where goods are arriving.

Weight Range (kg): Set minimum and maximum weight thresholds to focus on shipments of a certain size.

TEU Range: Filter by container volume using Twenty-foot Equivalent Units. Useful for gauging the scale of a company's shipping activity.

Total Shipments Range (Importer): Narrow your search by how many total shipments an importing company has on record. Helps you identify high-volume buyers.

Total Shipments Range (Supplier): Same thing, but on the supplier side. Find the most active exporters in your target market.

Include HS Code: Use Harmonized System codes to target specific product categories. You can use wildcards and separate multiple codes with commas.

Exclude HS Code: Filter out product categories you don't care about, using the same HS code format.

BOL Type: Filter by Bill of Lading type to match the kind of shipment documentation you're looking for.

Exploring Your Results

Once you've run your search, you'll land on the Importers page where all your results come together.

On the left, you'll see a list of matching companies. Some may already be tagged as Enriched, meaning Ubico has pulled in additional data on them. Select any company and the middle panel shows their supplier shipments in detail: trajectories, TEU, total weight, HS codes, and full product descriptions for every shipment on record.

On the right, you get contact information (phone, location, website) and engagement stats like total shipments in the last 12 months, all-time shipment volume, and when their first shipment was recorded. There's even a map showing their trade routes at a glance.

You can save your search as a feed to come back to it anytime, or hit Create Feed at the bottom to set one up from scratch.

How This Fits Into Your Workflow

The real power here is that trade data isn't sitting in a silo. Once you've found the right companies and contacts, you can push them straight into a segment, enrich them  and launch a campaign, all without leaving Ubico. Your outreach becomes grounded in what's actually happening in your prospect's supply chain, which makes every touchpoint more relevant and more likely to convert.
